Mindful
Medicine
Branding Design • 2021
Mindful Medicine is a political campaign aiming to dissolve social stigmas around psychedelics and promote them as a form of mental health therapy.
The campaign's goals are to increase self-education around psychedelics as medicine, research funding to further widespread medicinal usage, and promote active involvement in legalization legislation.
The Mindful Medicine campaign includes a brand identity, informational posters, and a plantetary wellness garden in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco (dedicated to cultivating and educating people on psychedelic medicines).
All these aspects aim to educate people on psychedelics from a place of scientific factuality and encourage approaching these substances as medicinal plants with benefits, rather than harmful drugs.
Wellness Garden
This garden, sponsored by the San Francisco Botanical Gardens, illustrates how natural the cultivation process of psychedelic medicine is. These psycho-active plants are converted into their ingestible forms to show viewers that being planted, harvested, and dried is all that psychedelic plant medicine requires,
as opposed to the manufacturing process of other mental health treatments.
None of the psychedelics are available for sale. The garden is an educational experience only, but there are many "garden goodies" to purchase, including merchandise and a quarterly informational magazine that documents current developments in the medicinal psychedelic field. All proceeds from the garden go to further fund the cause through research centers, legislation efforts, non-profit organizations, and more.
